Quantitative Viral Serology
A serology blood test is used to determine if there are certain
antibodies, IgG, IgA or IgM in your blood that react with certain
substances called COVID-19 antigens. The presence of antibody
indicates the patient has been infected or vaccinated. At this time, it is
not known what proportion of the population has antibodies to
COVID-19. When antibodies are found in your blood it is part of a
picture that your physician can use to aid in determining whether you
have had a COVID-19 infection or a response to a vaccine.
